100. Geburtstag am 19. September

New BBC-Production of the 7th Symphony

As I wrote before there are signs that the british BBC 3  will take part in the Pettersson centenary activities. Obviously, a performance of the 7th Symphony already took place in Glasgow on June the 17th, with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Bell. (See notice on the page of Chester Novello) – It seems that this concert was recorded and will be now broadcasted by BBC3 (program info here) – but likely there will not follow a  CD production, I think.

Pettersson – Symposium in Stockholm & Dresden

The Swedish Pettersson Society announces a celebration of the Pettersson centenary for 1st & 2nd October (1-5 p.m. each day) in Högalids församling (Högalids Church) in Stockholm. More can be find *here* – It will be held seminars by Laila Barkefors, Per-Henning Olsson, Lars Åke Lundberg a. o., the music will be Barfotasånger with Mathias Brorson, Annelie Korsfeldt and Stefan Nymark, piano, Sonatas for 2 violins with Duo Gelland and Violin Concerto No 1 with Jonas Lindgård and The Weber Qartet.

The German International Allan Pettersson Society also offers a symposium close to the performance of the 2nd Violin Concerto (November the 3rd)  in Freiberg/Sachsen. It will take place 3rd to 5th of November. Informations will be announced soon here. On Friday the 4th, 8 p.m. Duo Gelland will perform the Sonatas of Allan Pettersson.
